It is no news that Google loves to pick up the innovative and creative companies out there that like to do it different. One that comes to mind is Songza.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Songza, the company specialized on an in the moment DJ where you can pick from a selection of Genres as well as pick a playlist of music based on the mood or time of day. This is quite creative and has been used many times over here at the Binary Wasteland HQ when having visitors over for a good BBQ. They also have a few lesser know hit playlists such as “Code Your Face Off” which is quite good when we are looking to sit down and bang out some code. The acquisition by Google comes at no surprise as we can already envision a world where we say “OK Google, Play me some easy listening music for Monday Morning” and some classic rock comes on (theoretically). This is quite exciting and the post from Songza says “there are no immediate changes” but we are excited to see how the integration with Google goes. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Until the next article, Happy Hacking!
